The Rally

For students registered in this program:     Leave Application       Feedback/Suggestion

This was the first collective effort for the relaunched Health and Fitness, NSO program to connect to people. The initial shyness (in sloganeering) and inexperience (in poster-making) were overcome by the enthusiasm and team spirit of 800+ students and faculty members. It was as much a community awareness drive, as much making ourselves aware of ill-effects of addiction. In this post, we present a glimpse of the rally.

The Preparation

For students registered in this program:  Leave Application   Suggestion Box

We assured ourselves, when we relaunched this program, that the activities will not be limited to morning health exercise. We shall try to see if we can make this program a vehicle for healthy living that may have a larger foot print.

The student lead members and associated faculty got into act. The background preparatory work for an awareness rally, dedicated featured website and a newsletter started. A rally T-Shirt was proposed. Student leaders explored various options. A logo on white T-Shirt was thought to be simple and convenient. A local shop assured of discount. A Rs. 10 charge for logo impression was worked out. A Rs. 90 and Rs. 160 (discounted price) quality of T-Shirt were also bargained in the process, for those who do not have white T-Shirt! Not only students, the faculty also rushed to avoid a sell-out.

The theme chosen has been "Anti-Addiction". Slogans were invited from individual  members and posters from each group. And  finally, we come to the rally day. It is tomorrow (6th April, 2013 morning).

Rally slogans were invited and can be submitted in this link.

We made sure that we tell all students by mail and public announcements that there is no compulsion if one feels financially stressed to get the T-Shirt or logo impression done. The exercise is to see that the rally has greater impact when we hit the street in a common dress.

While these preparations are on, the weekly activities went on as per schedule. Pictures taken from different days are posted here.
