Begins At Home

For students registered in this program: Leave Application Feedback/Suggestion

It rained heavily yesterday. Many of us got drenched on our way during lunch break. This is quite welcome in larger interest as monsoon is deficient in this area as per The Telegraph report. One image from that report is placed here. We are in the zone marked red with 20-60% deficit in monsoon. Therefore, rain is welcome! But this makes us weary of the possibility of wash-out of field exercise this morning.
Accordingly, a mail was dropped inbox of all of us yesterday evening.

If it rains when we all take field in the morning i.e. 5:40 AM, then the field exercise will not take place on that particular day. You are advised to continue with your self-effort to remain fit and strong as you do for other days i.e SUN-TUE and THU-FRI. Further, if such wash-out due to rain occurs, you are advised to put extra effort in additional work which are small sized and team based as mentioned in previous notice.

However, the time window we had for field exercise this morning was rain-free. It started to drizzle when we were done with. We were worried as there was convocation marathon scheduled in the morning. But it was only a drizzle and we are sure that that it can no way dampen the spirit!

Endnote: Not only charity, discipline too begins at home. We were strict on ourselves today as regard to late-coming habit which may find its way in a small fraction of us. This is what we committed to ourselves as per the previous post and all stood by the same today. We shall surely improve on this count too because we can! A glimpse of today's work out is presented below.

Maximizing Benefit

For students registered in this program: Leave Application Feedback/Suggestion

Today was Day II of new academic session. We told ourselves that we shall be maximizing benefit of this program by following the exercise in proper sequence. That is, we shall start with warm up, then exercise, then game (if possible), then de-stretching which ends the session. If we join late and suddenly start participating without following the sequence, it may not be helpful. Also, the small fraction of us who join late, disturb the proceeding and cause inconvenience to fellow students. It becomes a part of our habit and spills over to other segments of our lives.

We are taking steps to discourage late-coming. As one of the concerned student member of the team rightly said in the mail sent to us, "... is not stopped we can never be able to gain an ordered atmosphere in our NSO classes and such people will continue coming late causing disturbance and inconvenience to all." We shall work together as a team and assure ourselves to bring the best out of us which will help us as individual as well as as team.

Well, the above shows that we had been relatively more serious today! But that did not stop us practising one exercise that doubles up as self-defence :-) towards the end of work out. This was taught to us last semester. The student leader again explained it today beautifully and we all practised the same.

New Session Begins - II

For students registered in this program: Leave Application Feedback/Suggestion

Continuing from the previous post, here are some pictures of the activities in the first day of the new session. The first year students are to join the team after their registration to EAA program is over and that will be later than 29th July. We would like to request our instructor to help us with new lessons when the full team takes field. Till then, it is the responsibility of the student volunteers to take the learning of the last semester forward, to stay healthy and stay fit!

One may see that the overcast sky could not prove to be a deterrent. At the suggestion of student volunteers the time is advanced by 10 minutes effective from next session. Reporting to field at 5:40 AM. Roll call 5:40 - 5:45 AM. Exercise with warm up starts at 5:45 AM.
