The NSO Health and Fitness team wishes all a very, very happy Independence Day and joins in the pledge taken this morning while unfurling national flag in front of signature tower of IIT Kharagpur.
"In this solemn morning, when our people by their suffering and sacrifice, have secured freedom and become masters of their destiny, we do dedicate ourselves to the service and welfare of India, to the end that this ancient land attain its rightful and honored place in the world, and makes its full and willing contribution to the promotion of world peace and welfare of mankind. May we have the strength to hold high the banner that has been entrusted to us, and the devotion to serve till the last breath, the cause that it represents."
We received a short message from a young member of our team which we would like to put in this post.
Finally, some of us in morning function of the institute participated in the left over job of arranging chairs, cleaning the same for our guests of Independence Day function. The bulk of the work was done by NSS, IIT Kharagpur.

August 15, 1947 is the day we all
remember not only because of the fact that we got independence on that day but
also for the fact how it was achieved.
Starting from November 1857 till 15 August, 1947 many political and social organizations were formed,
and armed and unarmed struggles took place. Many patriots sacrificed their
lives to see the light of this day. Without them it is hard to imagine how we
would have got freedom. Sixty seven years went after the independence of India , and it
is still a developing country. We all should take pledge that “ I am a citizen
of India
, I will give my service as much as required towards the development of my
country and remain faithful to my country”. JAI HIND.
