Grand Challenge

For students registered in this program:    Leave Application   Feedback/Suggestion

Youth is like a flame. A blow may bend it back, but only momentarily. It points upward again. We saw this spirit in today's session. We reminded our Physical Training Instructor (P.T.I.) from Gymkhana and his senior P.T.I. yesterday afternoon about today's session. But we didn't get their service today. When called, the senior P.T.I. told that another P.T.I. was supposed to come. We waited for sometime and then understood that there must have been some problem - communication gap, family emergency or otherwise.

After a very rewarding session of last Wednesday, the absence of P.T.I. made us feel little down, but only momentarily. The student trainers came forward and we had an interesting session. Today, after a long time we had "Do This, Do That" game. This is a game of body-mind coordination. Unit 10 was winner with 13 members surviving :-), Unit 1 was close second with 12 members surviving. Unit 4 and 5 lost the clue early. Announcement was made: (i)describing special activities and that one must involve in a team based special activity, (ii)discouraging certain student members who engage in some night long activities (dramatics!) and (iii)requesting not to overstretch on field and to take rest for any discomfort (iv)declaring grant of Rs. 1600 asked by Unit 7 for special activity. (i)-(iii) were told many times before.

We often have fun moment at the beginning of the session. Some of us reach early enough. Today, we were discussing how is the experience of the freshers in IIT Kharagpur environment. We wondered if there can be a grand challenge to design an alarm clock with 1.5m spatial resolution i.e. the alarm will wake up the target person and not other persons who share the room!!!

A glance of the warm-up and exercise, and the game appear in following two videos.
