On wednesday, 2nd November, we have assembled in the Jnan Ghosh stadium at 05:45 AM for an hour of exercises which involved some group activities that were well instructed by the Sports Officers.

On the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (First Home Minister of Independent India), Rashtriya Ekta Saptah was celebrated across the country. To commemorate this, Technology Students' Gymkhana, IIT Kharagpur organized 'RUN FOR UNITY' on 5th November 2016 (Saturday) at 05:45 AM. Though the continuous drizzles in the morning affected the event, enthusiastic students however swiftly walked around the campus. The walk commenced from TSG and after covering a distance of approximately five km, ended at TSG.

National Sports Organization (Health and Fitness), IIT Kharagpur, believes that Mental fitness precedes Physical Fitness.

And so does Heartfulness Institute (www.heartfulness.org) in its special initiatives of conducting Meditation Workshops for all age groups, all seekers into Spirituality, and beneficiaries from varied backgrounds.

Recognising the increasing role of Meditation as a crucial factor conducive to Inner well-being and Happiness, Heartfulness Institute, Kharagpur Centre (on IIT  Salua road, Village Gopali, KHARAGPUR) reaches out to 900 Undergrad students of IIT Kharagpur (registered in the N.S.O. - H&F Programme of the Institute) while taking this initial step towards the common goals of N.S.O. and Heartfulness Institute.

On 26th of October, 2016 (Wednesday), and on the 27th of October 2016 (Thursday), N.S.O. (Health and Fitness), IIT Kharagpur, bonded up with Heartfulness Institute(Kharagpur Centre) in organising its Heartfulness Meditation Workshop. This is a Special Activity for all students enrolled in NSO (Health & Fitness) course. On 27th October, despite the rains early in the morning, the students participated enthusiastically, and the meditation session was held inside the Gymkhana building.

Imagine the Egregore created by such a huge gathering of students meditating at one place at the same time. The amount of positivity and the warmth generated by the Meditators could be felt after the sessions.
